Overall Opinion:
Goldwell Dry Shampoo was a very disappointing product for many reasons.
This dry shampoo has a very fine texture, and because of that, it has to be applied over and over again to get any oil absorption at all.
Once it’s applied, it’s fairly easy to use because it melts right into the hair. It doesn’t leave any cakeyness despite all the product and it doesn’t have any color to the powder.
This product claims to give “ultra-volume” but I found that because of the fine texture, it really didn’t give much volume or texture to my hair at all.
It also has a horrible smell; it smells like chemicals mixed with perfume and the strong over-powering smell lasted in my hair all day long.
My biggest complaint about this dry shampoo is that it only lasted about half a day, around 7 hours, in my hair. Because of all the product I had already applied, I really didn’t want to add more into my hair. Half a day is just not long enough for a dry shampoo to last.
Overall, Goldwell Dry shampoo had more negatives than it did positives and I was really disappointed with the results I achieved from this dry shampoo.
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
Goldwell Dry Shampoo looks and feels almost like nothing; there is no pigmentation to the product at all and it has a very thin consistency.
I applied multiple layers before I could even feel any product in my hair at all.
Because of this super fine texture, you will have to use a lot of product to get all of the oil in your hair absorbed.
Application/Ease of Use
The application of Goldwell Dry Shampoo is easy; it’s an aerosol product so that makes the application quick.
It’s also pretty easy to use because of the thin consistency. It basically disappears into your hair.
I had to apply several layers of product, and once it was applied, all I had to do to blend it into the hair was brush it through a few times and it was good!
Drying Time
Goldwell Dry Shampoo only takes about 3 seconds to dry; it applied cold but not very damp.
Smell (Initially)
The smell of this product is awful. It smells like chemicals and a little bit of perfume to try to cover it up, but it makes it worse.
Smell (Over Time)
Unfortunately, the smell will stay strong in your hair all day. It gave me a headache from smelling it all day.
The Results
The results I achieved from Goldwell Dry Shampoo were less than impressive.
This product claims to give “ultra-volume” but I got absolutely no volume or texture added to my hair from this dry shampoo.
It also took way too much product to absorb the oil in my hair and I still didn’t feel like it was as clean looking as I wanted it to be.
How Long It Lasts
Goldwell Dry Shampoo only lasts about 7 hours in your hair before it needs to be reapplied.
Half way through my day, my hair started to look oily again, and I was super disappointed.
No one wants to have to reapply dry shampoo throughout the day; it really defeats the purpose.
Price
Goldwell Dry Shampoo is $14.49 for 5.9 oz. That comes out to $2.45 per oz.
This is an inexpensive dry shampoo, but I can guarantee I would go through this bottle super-fast since it doesn’t last long and you have to apply a lot.
Guarantee?
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a money back guarantee for Goldwell Dry Shampoo.
