Overall Opinion:
Using Garnier Fructis Volume Extend Dry Shampoo has both pros and cons.
The color of this product was inconsistent as it came out. Sometimes it would come out white and sometimes it would come out colorless… making it hard to blend naturally.
Application was also difficult because it came out so dry, and the color was so sporadic that it looked like a mess at first and took a lot longer just to work into my hair and make even.
Once I was able to work the product in and make it look even, it added a good amount of texture and volume to my hair.
I really liked the smell of the product both initially and over time; it smelled floral and eliminated any odor my hair had from being oily.
Another plus to this dry shampoo was that it lasted almost all day and kept my hair looking clean and textured.
Overall, the result of this product was good, but it took more time than I would’ve liked to make it blend.
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
Garnier Fructis Volume Extend Dry Shampoo is a very dry powder.
When I first sprayed the product into my hair, I was surprised how dry and powdery it immediately felt.
The dry, powdery consistency is great for oil absorbency and added texture but it did make my hair look and feel very brittle.
The color of the powder is white but it comes out very inconsistent.
When I first shook the bottle and applied it to my hair, I thought it was colorless and it took about 4 or 5 sprays to come out white.
Application/Ease of Use
The product wasn’t very easy to apply despite being an aerosol.
Since the product came out so dry, it was hard to evenly disperse the product around my hair.
It was also hard to blend into my hair because of the color of the product. Some places it came out totally colorless and other places it was stark white so it ended up taking a long time to make my hair not look blotchy.
Drying Time
Garnier Fructis Volume Extend Dry Shampoo came out completely dry to begin with.
Since the product was so powdery and dry, it made it harder to work into my hair, which I didn’t like.
Smell (Initially)
The smell of this dry shampoo is initially strong but also really good.
It smells fruity and floral without being too much.
Smell (Over Time)
Since the initial smell was so strong, the smell of the product lingered in my hair all day.
The strength of the smell died down after about 30 minutes which made the lasting smell nice.
The Results
The results I achieved from Garnier Fructis Volume Extend Dry shampoo were good, but I definitely had to work to make it look good.
Once I was able to blend the product in my hair and work it throughout, it added a nice amount of volume and texture and had great absorbency.
How Long It Lasts
The results from this product lasted almost all day, about 9 hours.
I was happy that I didn’t have to touch up my roots throughout the day and my hair stayed voluminous almost all day.
Price
Garnier Fructis Volume Extend Dry Shampoo is $5.99 for 3.5 oz of product.
That comes out to about $1.76 per oz which is a less than average price.
Guarantee?
No, unfortunately I wouldn’t find a guarantee for this product.
