Overall Opinion:
Eva Nyc Freshen Up Dry Shampoo is a very average dry shampoo in my opinion.
I wasn’t overly impressed by this product as it works just ok.
The application was easy with the aerosol bottle and it was easy to work into my hair once it was applied.
I didn’t like the way it smelled initially; it was much too “perfumey” for me, but once it was worked into my hair, the smell went away.
The biggest disappointment with this product was how long it lasted. After two hours, the oils in my hair completely came back and I needed to add more dry shampoo in my hair.
Overall, this dry shampoo is just ok, hence the 2.5 out of 5 rating.
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
Eva Nyc Freshen Up looks and feels a bit like powder when first applied to the hair.
When I sprayed the dry shampoo into my roots, I was surprised at how subtle the powder color was.
I was able to apply a generous amount onto my hair because of the subtle look which helped absorb the oil.
After I played around with the product and worked it in, it looked nice and gave a good clean look to my hair.
Application/Ease of Use
The application of Eva Nyc Freshen Up is very easy.
The aerosol bottle does not spray too much product which I like because I can add the amount I want gradually, rather than too much at once.
Once the product is in the hair, it is easy to manipulate and use. I applied the amount I wanted and then worked it into my hair with my fingers and a brush to add volume.
Drying Time
This product does feel a slight bit wet when it first comes out but dries in about 30 seconds.
Smell (Initially)
The smell isn’t the worst I’ve smelt but I really wasn’t a fan of it.
When it first is applied, it just smells like too much perfume was sprayed.
Smell (Over Time)
After about 10 minutes the smell dissipates, which was good because the smell was too strong for my taste.
The Results
The results I got from Eva Nyc Freshen Up were very average at best.
I liked the subtlety of the color in the product and how easy it was to use, but I didn’t think it gave me as much oil absorption as I wanted.
I also like when dry shampoo adds texture to my hair and I didn’t get much texture or volume from this dry shampoo without having to use a lot of product.
How Long It Lasts
I was very disappointed with the results over time from Eva Nyc Freshen Up.
After about 2 hours, my hair looked greasy again and I needed to add even more product.
Price
Eva Nyc Freshen Up Dry Shampoo costs $14.00 for 5.3 ounces of product.
That comes out to $2.64 per ounce which is very reasonable for dry shampoo.
