Overall Opinion:
Aveda Shampure Dry Shampoo worked well to absorb the oil in my hair, but had a few downsides to the product as well.
This dry shampoo is very difficult to apply and very difficult to use. To get any product out, you have to squeeze the bottle which leaves a giant mess of powder everywhere.
It’s hard to use because the powder gets stuck in your scalp and leaves a grey tint in your hair and scalp, which doesn’t come out until it’s washed.
It didn’t add a lot of texture to my hair but added a bit of volume, and also helped my hair smell fresh all day.
The product lasted in my hair all day and kept my hair oil free, but it also left the powder in my scalp all day as well.
Overall, Aveda Shampure Dry Shampoo works well but the negatives of the product outweigh the positives.
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
The look of the Aveda Shampure Dry Shampoo is a very fine white powder with a grey undertone to it.
The feel of the dry shampoo is a super soft and super fine texture when it is applied to the hair.
When I first applied it to my hair, I could tell that this was going to be difficult to use because of how highly pigmented the powder was.
Application/Ease of Use
The application of Aveda Shampure Dry Shampoo is extremely difficult; it won’t apply unless you squeeze the bottle, which then causes a giant mess of powder to splat onto your hair.
Once it’s applied, its super hard to use because the powder goes absolutely everywhere. Not only did it get in my hair, but it got all over my bathroom, on the counter, on the floor, and on my clothes.
The pigment of the powder sticks to your scalp, and not matter how hard I tried to get the grey hue out of my hair, it wouldn’t come out until I washed it.
Drying Time
Aveda Shampure Dry Shampoo is a powder formula so it applies dry.
Smell (Initially)
The smell of Aveda Shampure Dry Shampoo is herbal and soft.
Smell (Over Time)
The smell stayed in my hair all day long.
The Results
The results I achieved from Aveda Shampure Dry Shampoo were mixed; it absorbed the oil in my hair super well but the powder wouldn’t come out of my scalp.
I think I would like this product a lot if it wasn’t so hard to use and hard to apply because it left my hair oil free.
It didn’t add much texture to my hair, but at the roots it added a bit of volume.
How Long It Lasts
The Aveda Shampure Dry Shampoo lasted in my hair all day long; the oil didn’t break through my hair at all through the day.
As I mentioned before, it didn’t come out of my hair until I actually washed it the next day.
Price
Aveda Shampure Dry Shampoo is $30.00 for 2 oz. That comes out to $15.00 per oz.
That is very expensive for a dry shampoo, especially one that’s hard to use.
